Time 4 Children Announces New Charity President

Time 4 Children is delighted to announce that our founder, Vicky Chalmers, has accepted the role of President of the charity.

Founded in 2005, Time 4 Children was born from Vicky's vision that every child should have access to a safe, supportive adult who will listen without judgement. After piloting a successful school-based project in Mid Sussex, Vicky established Time 4 Children as an independent charity dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children.

Over the past two decades, the charity has grown to support children across Mid Sussex through one-to-one Emotional Listening Support delivered by trained volunteers. Throughout that journey, Vicky's passion, determination and unwavering belief in the importance of early emotional support have been at the heart of everything we do.

Reflecting on Vicky's contribution, Time 4 Children's Manager, Lisa Westbury, said:

"After founding the charity in 2005, Vicky worked tirelessly for 17 years, achieving remarkable results and supporting many hundreds of children."

​

Following her retirement in 2022, Vicky continued to play an important role behind the scenes, offering guidance, encouragement and support to the team, trustees and volunteers.

Lisa added:

"Following her retirement in 2022, she remained an inspiring mentor and much valued source of advice and encouragement. It therefore seemed only fitting that she should become the official President of Time 4 Children."

The role of President recognises Vicky's outstanding contribution to the charity and provides an opportunity for her to remain closely connected to the organisation she created. Her experience, knowledge and commitment to children's emotional wellbeing continue to be invaluable as Time 4 Children develops and grows to meet increasing demand for its services.

Vicky was awarded an MBE in 2017 for services to children's emotional wellbeing, a fitting recognition of the difference she has made to the lives of countless children and families over many years.
